A roofscape built for hiding a leak

Topsham's historic core, built on wool and Dutch trade money along the Strand and Fore Street, is one of the more complicated stretches of roof in East Devon: curved and stepped gable ends, tall narrow frontages, and roof planes meeting at angles a modern builder would refuse to draw.
